I Would Love to Try AH But.........HELP!!
« on: October 25, 2001, 01:07:00 PM »
I have also placed this post on Tech Support

After three days of trying to program my CH USB Pro Throttle and USB F-16 Combatstick using the AH GUI I'm about ready to give it up. No problem with control surfaces, it's the buttons/hats. After getting everything set on the Pro throttle and testing them, I finally got the js buttons programmed. But then the throttle buttons (most of them) lost their setting. Started over MANY times. I can either have the Pro Throttle buttons the way I want OR the Combatstick but not both. What am I doing wrong?? I can find NO help whatever in any of the documentation.
After four years of Warbirds I'd really like to try something new but.....     :(
Please, any help appreciated.
Thank goodness the Pro Pedals have no buttons, I'd be a raving maniac by now

Btw...I do not want to use CH control manager for this programming.

I have the same setup, and got it working for AH.

Are you sure the throttle and stick aren't duplicating button codes?  You might need to use the CH Control Manager to set the buttons to different codes.

(Why don't you want to use the Control Manager?)

I have the same (except analog) and it works fine. I use speedkeys to set up the throttle/joystick combo, save the configuration and download it to the stick.

Granted, this stopped working when I installed WinXP, but otherwise this should work fine for you. Check the CH website for speedkeys.

Kieran,

Control Manager is "Speedkeys for USB".

Thanks for your quick response popeye. I assume you are using Program Manager. I read/was told/found in FAQs that any game that supported multiple controllers were better served by NOT using Program Manager. I don't use it in WBIII and It "seems" that inputs are smoother. At least I don't have to go to PM and change profiles before login.
If all else fails I will use PM and give AH a try. But there SHOULD be a way to go directly using the AH GUI.

Oldwolf, at the CON, banana had just bought a USB Pro Throttle and a USB Combatstick and spent like 3 hours trying to program them in that new CH software.

HiTech came over and told him to use the key setup in AH, and he got it working in about 10 mins or so.

I'm not sure how he did it, but I do know its possible.
