Correct, my suggestion. Would be my "best of all possible worlds" scenario.

What HT will actually come up with is anyone's guess.

I am a bit surprised as it was one of the hot topics at last year's con.
Really expected to have something by now.

I would love to have that feature so i can host fighter matches, like how it's done in IL2 franchise

Would love to host 4v4 or 8v8 Fighter matches
For example:

MUSTANG [D] vs 190 [d-9]
MUSTANG [D] vs HAYATE [ki-84]
MUSTANG [D] vs 109 [g-14]
THUNDERBOLT [D-25/D-40] vs 190 [A/F-8]
THUNDERBOLT [M] vs Ta-152
SPITFIRE [V] vs 109 [F]

etc etc :pray

Maybe a middle step is use modify the DA so you can sign out a pair of fields...

From the tower of a DA field, there is a  clip board option to sign out the field(s)
The person who signs out the fields becomes the moderator
Clicking on signed out field sends message to the moderator who 'accepts' or 'denies'
Only folks accepted by moderator can up from a signed out field.
Radio adds Field labels as Channels [Example Radio can be set to A24] (this will help keep chats and com private)
Range Vox is changed from 'Friendly within 6k' to everyone who upped from the field you towered from.
The Other field in the pair can be tuned on 'transmit' channel [for talking to the other team]
Limit the number of fields that can be signed out [1/2?]

This would mean arena settings and Maps have to remain the DA settings and maps.
Issues might be people signing out fields for long periods of time and not using them, but a little thought on time requirements and usage requirements could solve that.
A party crasher could still fly over from an adjacent field, but hopefully that behavior would be limitted to real knuckleheads.

Maybe that's easier to do than setting up private arenas, so it could be implemented sooner, But who knows...I thought they would be good mods to the DA anyway and might give the H2H folks something similar to what they had before.  :salute

That one is less old then this one.....
The game plan is to have user spawned arenas running on our hosts that can be configured with terrains for paying/free trial users.

So functionally  it will be the same as the old H2H, with the exception of being free. But it gives us back control of hosts.

HiTech

But where are we in this 2 week period I wonder...........  :uhoh

This is something that also concerns me, especially for the already lower population arenas.

If it is 8 player or less it might not be too bad.

If it is something like 32 player hosted on HTC servers like Il2/hyperlobby where anyone can run a custom 24/7 arena it will be a dynamic change.

It's been in several threads. Most recently here http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/index.php/topic,295635.0.html

Hitech's response toward the bottom of first page.

I hated it when they shut down H2H, it was fun as all hell. But I could tell it was coming soon when I saw people launching about 20-30 torpedoes from CV's at one time. Favorite part for me were the custom racetracks people made, and racing B-17's, lol

Hee hee

Perhaps one of these racetracks?
