Then why do we have the P51B? We should have the P51C. Everything is better in texas.

Not in the CBI.  No Malcom hoods there.  They got Mustangs later then most and were happy with any they got.  MTO didn't have the Malcom either so the coffin hoods remained.  Common to see a mix.

One of my favorite 51 photos from the ETO.  D models, B/C with a Malcom and a B/C with the production canopy.  359th FG, November 44, so late in the game and the mix continued, which it did until the end of the war in the ETO, although obviously the razorback 51B/Cs were much fewer as they were out of production and mostly war weary by that time.
