Heya Aces,
as you may recall I had some problems running the Detonator 5.22 drivers on my machine.
Now, since 5.30 driveres are out I thought, hey, maybe they work now! Thought wrong excact the same symptoms:
While booting the system stops loading Windows for 20 min... then starts again and finishes beautifully... FSAA works great and FR is acceptable.
What I did not notice before is the following: while scanning through Windows to find the problem I noticed that my IDE harddrives run in ms-dos compatibility mode (found that under "systemsteuerung/system/leistungsmerkmal" (sorry I do not know the english equivalent)... I find this very odd since I do not load anything in autoexec.bat or config.sys (well SB Live loads something and I cannot disable it... even deleting those files is futile). I still think that some IRQ conflict may be the problem. But Windows does not show any conflicts. My primary drives are SCSI, plus a IDE drive (this the one that uses compatibility mode)
The wierdest thing still is that Windows resumes loading after TWENTY MINUTES!!!
