frame rates and new patch

Hello, Frame rates went from 60 solid to all over the place. I use the high res pack, both in the pre patch and now. my net status is solid straight line. seems to jump real bad when trigger is pulled or when im around any other aircraft. My in game video settings have not changed since patch. so heres the dxdiag

Hey all <S> ..I have had this same problem since the new town update...i figured i would give it a while and see if it would get better as uall worked out some things .. I have searched and read alot of advice here as well as asking some squadies for help ...I find that if i turn off all my advance settins the frame rate comes back to 59 and rarely drops but its no fun playin like that. Did uall ever fix this dudes problem? I know u need a diax thing...have to figure out how to post it  :headscratch:  ty DT

you should be able to cut/paste from a .txt document just fine, only problem is you'll have to be selective in what you're cutting and pasting, as there is a max character limit for BBS posts.   Typically what sizzle has posted is sufficient for a review.

I am not up on the  MS Vista versions..... but it looks like you might be using a 64 bit sound driver version on a 32 bit Vista OS, perhaps???

your DxDiag report is saying "DxDiag Version: 6.00.6001.18000 32bit Unicode", but your sound driver is saying "Driver Name: RTKVHD64.sys"

if this is so could this might be your problem???

Vista/7 defaults to the 32bit version of DxDiag.  While there is a 64bit version available, you have to click on a button that says "Click here to run the 64bit version" and since it does nothing more than what the 32 bit version does, there really is no point in doing so.

I see he is using REALTEK sound devices (which usually means on-board audio, or possibly a USB plug in module), so it may be worth disabling those devices (temporarily) and see if the FPS is restored with no sound.

I used to have a very similar setup (albeit with a slightly slower E7400 processor but with the same exact video) and I struggled to maintain 60fps running 1024 textures.  It was more like 60 with nobody around and pointing straight up into a cloudless sky... and 35-45 during 'normal' combat, and 25-30 during heavy combat with fire, smoke, etc.  Turning self shadow on really took a hit on performance, so I usually run at 512 textures with no shadows to keep a relatively consistent 60FPS across the board.

Also make sure you disable the HDMI sound in the Nvidia properties panel (While my old 9800GTX did not have an HDMI port, it DID have that option in its properties with one of the newer drivers.)  I don't know if this would actually do anything in you case, but it can't hurt.

IDK who old Roy is but he kinda helped ...I still dont understand how everthing is working fine one day ...then an update comes along ....and its my computer?  and i'm not talking about the latest update ...after the new town and base update...i thought i'ld be patient and see before i asked some stupid questions. And There are alot of guys in the game having the same problem....so what is the deal ?    aaaaaaaaaaa old Roy is Skuzzy ..lol ....da ..Ok then time to take this old computer out for target practice then  :o

thanks for all the replies!  :salute but i think i fixed it. turns out that it has nothing to do with my hardware. Its the fact that i myself am slow and neglected to check out my processes. turns out 70+ programs running in the back ground with many of them trying to update is not a good thing while playing aces high.  :confused: who would have know that any way?!so yeah now I'm back to my norm. thanks again!
