2nd go was more realistic in that we had NO escorts with us.  1st go, I took 50% fuel, but towards the end the others were out running me.  So I took 25% fuel on the 2nd and low and behold, I ended up getting fueled.... :furious :rofl  I ran out of fuel about 2 sectors away from base and ended up having to glide the rest of the way in.  Almost rolled off the end of the runway. :lol

youre thinking of when the army and airforce separated. until 47 it was the United States Army Air Force.

There were some nice attack passes made by the German pilots and I lost 2 of my B-17's on the 1st bomb run.  I salute you.  :salute
