Very true.  But in this down economy folks are cutting back on luxuries and just getting the bare essentials.  Gotta tone down the high-end HOs until things improve.  Then it is okay to go back to $400 / hr HOs.

You did try and HO the guy, some people are probably thinking 'but the other guys guns aren't on me so it can't be a ho' well thats because he has to go around you to avoid a collison on the merge, you should respect his decision not to ram into you and have a fight and hold fire on the merge. Both planes looking for seperation advantage leading up to a merge is a good indicator there will be no HOs.

The 50-60 mph advantage as you merge makes this type of fight a pretty easy one for you so no need to attempt a HO.
