Ok, I don't want to get flamed here but this has got to be said.

To all non-computer-geeks.

DO NOT TWEAK

You don't know what you are doing, and you can follow all the advice in the world right down to your local gateway country store when you need to buy a new computer because you overclocked your chip and it fried, or you built up too much heat in your case that things actually start fusing together.

If you want to tweak, know ahead of time that it will take MANY HOURS and MANY DOLLARS before you are ever satisfied.

Just some fair warning that I thought should be said.

heheh now for those of you who want to tweak...I would be happy to throw as much advice at you as you can push through your meager celeron systems.

Cheers! and happy flyin...remember only reason I mention this is I would rather fly with a wingman with slower frame rates than without a mate at all.  :)

I deal with people who use their CD trays as drink holders or even better than that...use their PC chip to bake cookies cause they overclock the thing WAY TO MUCH...

No actually I am just an ol fashioned computer NUT who gets tired of fixing all his friends computers because they try to tweak and instead FREAK the thing all up...

 ;)

Yo CY,
Ya better not look under my hood err i mean pc
H2o cooled 1.2 @ can't say falcon will freak lol
So far in all my clocking only one glitch  :) my bios chip died on me which asus replaced no questions asked  :D (still under warranty)
Bro has the mobo (A7v) which i volt modded to get a tb 750 to 1.1gig  :) and she is still going strong at 2.1v
One thing i have found passing say the 1.2gig mark is chip speed only increases benchies and don't really increase game performance as such, I put this down to limit of vidcard etc
Fps in AH i ignore as i am a CTRL-I remmision
Ctrl-I is a tool of the devil i tell ya, Just blank those keystrokes outa ya mind
I felt a need for the "CIA" control-i anonnomous (sp?) but now i beat the urge to use that dreaded command  :D

Have Fun

Def

btw:I hopefully will get some serious flying in later CY so i will try n help ya some more m8

Well said, Cyan

Add to that....stay away from Computer Shows if you do not know how to build a PC.  Hening used to own a local computer store and I was one of his employees/techs.  We used to see some incredibly crappy motherboards/cases and you name it el-cheapo junk slapped together and called "a PC".  Then, they'd send it our way to try to fix it and make it go.

There's such a thing as "quality components".

Much as I wouldnt dare fix my refrigerator if it broke down, people who arent savvy with the PC shouldn't attempt it.  Ask the local gurus for product references if you are going to buy components.  This doesn't mean the $6 an hour BestBuy kid...this means looking in the phone book for computer professionals.

If there is anything I have learned in my life, its that its worth every penny to hire a professional and have it done right.  Otherwise, if its too good to be true, it probably is.
