Hello all.
One of the explanations for my absence to the AH community is frequent flying in real life.
I have been taking rides to "Eyjafjallajökull", the infamous volcano which had such an impact on the flying in Europe last spring and summer.
My part was helping out by scanning the weather and view, and sometimes filling the right seat for the comfort of the passangers (a "dud") as well as interpreting in German.
One of the flights doing the same route has been put on Youtube. It is the classical canyon ride in a Cessna that I did many times (I was not with on this run). There is a comic approach to this and I do briefly appear (fresh out of the cowshed) in the intro. Anyway, the video is hilarious and to be seen here:

p.s. The season is almost over so I am back in AH as "LONGHORN"

It was very interesting to carry out the flight trials at Rechlin with the Spitfire and the Hurricane. Both types are very simple to fly compared to our aircraft, and childishly easy to take-off and land. (Werner Mölders)

Oh, BTW, the boots hanging at the sign are mine.
It is really just a grass airstrip, and the bloody powerline runs across. I have been under it many times.
This flight was the routine one, there were rougher ones you see....
And...it is an incredible sight.
The Pilot is a 70 years old guy, who is mostly known as a news reporter, comedian, singer, entertainer, song writer, comedian, environmentalist, rally driver, sports reporter (much about boxing)  and for his documentaries. His "side job" as a pilot leaves him with 7.000 hours or more in the air, mostly doing flying like this.
I'll go again any day :D

Update:,....maybe tomorrow. There is a glacial melting in the east part of the country  so there will soon be something to fil or photograph. And today I completed the hooks (Anchors) for a small aircraft. It fits the Cessna 172 nicely, but will more and less fit most of the small ones.
