Controller questions....choices.........
« on: October 25, 2000, 11:53:00 PM »
Lookin into gettin a new control rig, been happily using my sidewinder 3dpro for years now, but would like to go usb I think.
Has anyone tried the Wingman Force 3d? Liked the feel of it , but havent flown with it.
Also would appreciate suggestions as far as rudder pedals go, are the Hoffmans then end all, be all?  Do pedals make that much difference? Are the TM Elite pedals any good? Etc etc ad nauseum, ad infinitum....

USB both - X36 combo (you need the programming buttons) with the CH USB peds. The best combo going for AH, IMHO.

Right what Eagler said , with the new driver Bob Church came out with to add foot rudders to the Saitek HOTTAS they are the way to go for price etc . Link to driver , www.stickworks.com

The really good news is that you don't need those special stickworks drivers to use the USB X36 combo throttle and stick system along with a set of CH Products USB Pro Pedals. They will work just fine, because the folks here at Aces High have taken the time to program this sim correctly.

You simply click to set up the stick and correct axis in the joystick setup area.

I orginally flew AH with Thrustmaster F22 Pro stick, TQS throttle, and Thrustmaster Pedals on a PDPF L4 gamecard. I later switched to all USB with the X36 combo and CH USB Pedals. There is absolutely no comparison. The USB X36 & Ch Pedals are vastly superior. I would have gone all USB Ch Products, but they don't have a good complete set up in USB as yet.

I can't say enough good things about the USB X36 & CH Pedals. Surprisingly, the X36 combo is not very expensive. Before I got my hands on it I kind of wondered about the quality considering the price, but I was very pleasantly surprised when I got a hold of this excellent combo.

Fying without pedals now would be a real handicap. Flying without USB will never happen on my computer again.

Try it. You'll like it.
