Wow, WAY too many to list all of them, but I'll give it my best shot.

In no particular order:
Das Boot
Joyeux Noel
Flags of our Fathers
Band of Brothers & The Pacific (miniseries technically, but I consider it a movie)
Black Hawk Down
Glory
The Hurt Locker

No, Force 10 from Navarone should not be considered one of the top war movies...it was a decent action flick, not a good war movie.  A good war movie would be the movie it was a sequal to, The Guns of Navarone.

I thought this was a good movie, although I'm not in a rush to see it again.

Fun Fact: The P-51 that saved them had markings that would have meant it was in the PTO. (May be wrong)

You are wrong :)   Shoulda been Jugs though and the 51 was in 78th FG markings which did not have 51s at the time but Jugs.  D-Day stripes were correct and I believe the second 51 was in 352nd FG Markings  Lady Helen which is an actual combat vet from WW2 but not D-Day.

Whether it's the greatest can be debated, but I have to throw "Tae Guk GI' out there. Definitely among my favorite war movies of all time.

If you haven't heard of it (which, I'm sure you haven't), it's a Korean-made movie about the Korean war. Best viewed in the original language with English subtitles, seeing/hearing it in English first kinda takes away from the emotion felt the first time through.

Stalingrad - 1993 German film.
... missions were to be met by the commitment of alerted swarms of fighters, composed of Me 109's and Fw 190's, that were strategically based to protect industrial installations. The inferior capabilities of these fighters against the Mosquitoes made this a hopeless and uneconomical effort. 1.JD KTB
