Intel's iComp rating (akdejavu)
« on: October 01, 2001, 02:30:00 AM »
Akdeja said in earlier thread:

The rating was not marked on their processor... unless it was somehow incorperated into the part number. The processor was never marketed using that rating in its name.

Well, I have now a genuine Intel Pentium 100 processor that carries it's iComp rating printed on its top ceramic. If you dont believe it, I can take photo of it and post it here.  :)

Jochen, was the processor called a 100 MHz on the package or was the iComp rating the only thing that was used?

Hey.. post the pic of it.  Then post ANY advertisement where the MHz rating of the processor was not displayed.

I will take photo tonight if I only remember...

I don't know about the type markings and stuff but I was quite sure the rating was marked on processor and I become curious after you said it had never happened.

Um... the only thing I said "never" happened is that the processor was not marketed using the iComp rating instead of its name/clock speed.

We didn't sell the iComp 150... we sold a Pentium 100MHz.

I think I implied that I wasn't quite sure with the "unless...." portion.

finish the sentance jochen... there was an "unless" on there too.  Like I said.. there was uncertainty in the sentance... not the word "never".
