or jg3 could keep sides level, until there are enough people in there for you all to be on one side. just a suggestion.

We took off with the intention of keeping half our planes out of the combat so as to not overwhelm. By the time we'd formed up the arena was even. Before we rolled I PM'd Dicho and told him our intentions. He passed those on to people on his side obviously because we had even numbers of people waiting for both flights we put up.

Just a suggestion become informed before posting.

Jaeger, the numbers were fluctuating every couple of minutes all night, we would have been chasing the low side constantly, by the time we would have evened it up it would have lopsided the other way.

At least twice during the night when I checked the roster, the other side had higher numbers.

I personally came to the AvA because it wasn't full of the crap we have to deal with in the MA.  Tonight it didn't matter.  I logged in and it was 9 vs 2.  Squads have their place, but I really thought this arena was about even numbers.  I popped a 109's engine tonight and then went guns cold as he was trying to ditch.  He wasn't a threat anymore.  Not two minutes later, I was ganged by 3 109's.  Large squads don't have a place in the AvA yet.  If we get enough people in the arena to warrant large squads, that's great.  Until then, let's keep the fights good and the numbers even.

JagerX several times last night I was on the wrong end of 1v1s 3v1s and twice 4 or more v1s. Using your logic singles and small squads don't have a place in the AvA until there are more numbers.

The squad was formed with the intention of enhancing the AvA not hurting it. For two days before our first squadnight we discussed how not to overwhelm with numbers as our biggest concern. Yesterday morning I'd already posted what we would do if numbers were skewed so as not to hoard or overwhelm. We stuck to that plan. On our second mission last night Bug was leading we had alt and were just South of the Russian base most of you guys were using. Just as thought he would he backed us off and we headed West down the channel. A lone LA was nosing around and we followed him West. This allowed you and the rest of Allied players that had just upped to get alt and get to mid channel. Which was our mission leads intention the whole time. By the time you made your little comment about us chasing a single we'd already turned back into you and the other Allied planes. You were clear of your base and mid channel where the fight would be neutral ground just what we were trying to achieve. We didn't want to hit you guys before you had any alt, we didn't want you guys over our base hitting us while we were taking off. I have a lot of respect for you and your attitude but your assumptions about last night are off base in this case.

We're going to continue to fly and do our best to enjoy the experience of the AvA and hopefully enhance it. We are not some pack of goons here to make trouble. At the same time I'm not going to stand by and let the guys I fly with have an albatross of false assumptions hung around their neck. There are problem makers and people looking for trouble in the arena and it's not  I/JG-3. In fact before we even had our first squadnight we were already being targeted for aggravation by others taking and mocking our squad I.D. We were the ones getting Vulched and hit before we could even clear our base paremeter last night not you. I've flown in the AvA for years and I'm not intentionally going to do something to damage it. Neither are the guys we have in the squad.

You got any new material? You really need to find one of those little icons with the guy sticking his head in a butt to represent yourself.

Last night I finally got a squadie to come check out AvA we started out axis in my beloved K4.  Instantly I knew something was up there was a large freindly group ahead of us very high.  Tried to see what they were doing on country chat and cox no response.  After looking at the roster and how lopsided it was we bailed and went russian (even though I wanted to fly 109's).  We climbed to 10k and went to meet the large axis force.  Found them about half way out still several thousand feet above us.  About five of them took turns diving on us untill we were dead.  There were a few furballs that were fun last night.  But I would say 4 out of 6 flights I ended up fighting 3v1 or more.  Even if only 1 out of 5 are engaging if the other four keep buzzing the fight it's hard to keep up with which one you are fighting it's still a 5v1.  (last night they were all shooting).  And as far as a large axis squad goes that great but others want to fly axis to if every time I come in and it's 8 axis vs a few allied that's no fun.  I switched sides and flew planes I didn't like last night but I don't want to every night.

P.S.  I thought Rammey was trying to play nice last night.  He was on the allied side and it was axis that ho'ed and gang banged me all night.  Just sayin.....

rammey is actually pretty cool, when the others aren't on.

as for the hi alt axis force.  i think bug and shifty tend to like to fly high sometimes....although i've found more than my fair share of deaths at their hands down in the trees.
something else i've noticed, is that if you dodge them enough, they eventually stay lower with ya.

they're doing squad type ops. if there's no opposing squads, then when there's enough of us on, we need to try to fly more cohesively(i think that's the right word?) against them. i don't think they're out to ruin the atmosphere here, but rather they are trying to add another layer of immersion.

Several times last night I was ganged 3v1 or 4v1 by the allies. No problem, my fault for flying into it.

How could that happen if the numbers were so lopsided?

We aren't going to hold squad ops every night and when we do it will be for about 2 sorties and then the squad will move into free-play and we will keep a close eye on the arena numbers.

So let's start getting some allied squads going!!

I haven't been in the AvA all week...other stuff going on, and I don't like the planes (I'm not BnZ type guy).  Anyway...

I have no problem if a squad of 4-100 want to fly together; just send two down at a time to engage - the others can stay high and watch for other cons to engage.  In the rare case that I might survive long enough to splash one or both, peel off another one or two and come down and play.  If I were to see 4+ guys come down on a regular basis, to engage just one (whether me or someone else), I'd go elsewhere as that's no fun for me.

Generally the attitude and atmosphere of the AvA makes for lots of fun for everyone, but unfortunately with more people comes more drama and ganging like the Mains - and I might as well be there instead.
