They have to front it first through the various airport charges - they recoup through ticket prices, but airlines loath to add extra charges they cant use for themselves.

Typical. seize nail clippers from a guy carring an automatic weapon. What do you expect? They are givin granny a cavity search while the southern border is wide open. Not to mention all the people that are exempt from searches, Congress for example. Theres a bunch of criminals that definately need to be strip seached.

Pssst, that's not the main way they get it- it's by plane, ship, and car, not sneaking.

Fun story for you all,

I deployed to afghanistan in Sept 08'. Flying out of the states with my unit we each had a M16 and M9 on hand. It was a military commercial jet. We had engine issues and landed at a public airport for emergency repairs. After touchdown they allow us to enter the airport and have some last minute fun. We left our weapons on the aircraft with a few watches standing security over them. After repairs are made we go back to gate to find ourselves in line for a metal detector before boarding our aircraft again. Due to the fact we were ready to enter the unknown we had all sorts of junk in our pockets. The TSA claimed many pocket knives, utility knifes (My Leathermen), and all sorts of other stuff. Funny how they take pocket knives when we all have assault rifles and pistols on board the aircraft.

Security is a joke lol.  Any one can walk into my work building or my kids school and take every one out.  No TSA there.  Why are we so worried about airplanes?
