Blue screen of death
« on: November 18, 2010, 03:45:30 PM »
Hi All
since the last update I believe, my computer crashes when I get on a ship in a gunner position. This seems to be the only time it happens. I have for a system Intel Pentium R D CPU 3 Ghz, with 2G of ram. running an ATI Radeon 5700 with an addition 1 G of ram, the operating system is XP 5.01 version 2002 with S/ Pack 3. My direct X is 9.0c

I check and my divers for the ATI are current and updated most of my drivers i believe.

any ideas on what the issue could be?

hope to hear from ya
Dan

Was reading something about the ATI drivers on the hardware BBs.

May or may not be pertinent to your troubles.

Good luck.

Sounds like some type of corruption in the game files.  You running any type of anti-xxx software?  This could cause it.

Never, ever run any anti-xxxx software when playing online as it can corrupt game data and cause the problems you described.

Anti Virus

Anti Spam

Anti Adware

Anti Spyware

Basically software that runs in the background and scans stuff.  Turn it all off before running AH if at all possible.

I posted on other thread about the game crashing on me in the last week several times.  I have Vipre anti virus and it has never interfeared with the game.  Not saying its not some others issues, just never has been for me.  Thanks

Yes I have Avast which is supposedly especially problematic, but I've never had an issue either.

But I have seen many people with cases of strange glitches like this, of which was solved after uninstalling (or disabling) various "anti-" softwares...
