x52
« on: December 23, 2010, 12:12:04 AM »
I have 2 x52's. 1 is just plain worn out,but the 2 stage trigger works fine. the other one ( one i use) works great except trigger is crap, works on it's own schedule. Has anyone any experience taking these apart and replacing parts? I want to switch triggers between the 2 sticks.

I wouldn't think it'd be too difficult.  Allen wrenches and solder would probably do it.

Theres a wire that acts like a spring on the trigger, could be your problem. No x52 is not hard to take apart. If you google x52, there is a web page that shows how someone took thiers apart and modified it. I don't know if that web site would be still up.

When u take the top piece apart, do it slowely as, when I did it, a metal piece jumped out and it took me a week to figure out where it belonged :)

You mentioned one is just plain worn out... exactly how so?  Perhaps it can be repaired..?

In either case it shouldn't be that difficult to replace the trigger... also do the Magnet mod while you're in there

Well i ended up fixing the trigger, there is a small lever that actually presses the micro switch. this lever has bent a little, ( probably from me pulling  it with some vigour while screaming "fire you SOB". ) there is a stop above the level and the now bent lever was hitting the stop before pressing the micro switch. A little twist on the lever and back in business. I am a technical person, have been for 30 years. This x52 is NOT a well built product. I suspect all the mechanical parts were cobbled together to match the bag of switches the purchasing agent had managed to round up that particular week. thanks for the input.
The other one that is "worn out" is worn out electrically, there is no smooth increase or decrease in the outputs, they are up and down randomly with only a vague trend between high and low.

I'm offended by this post. I want this thread locked.

Nevermind.. I simply reported it
