Why would the A-26 be a front runner?  It did not see heavy use and fills no holes.

I'd hope for the Ju188A, Tu-2 or Pe-2, personally.

Why wouldn't it be?  If the B-29 hadn't been in the poll the A-26 would of won hands down.  Like it or not a very large portion of the player base wants this plane.

Yes, they want to dogfight in it because of AW.  It isn't what they think it is.

Players often want things that are bad for games, it is why developers ignore almost all player requests.  It doesn't matter if it is a small company like HTC or a huge company like Blizzard, it is the same.

As to the A-26 winning if the B-29 wasn't on the list, that is true.  It is also probably true that the TBD-1 Devastator would have won had it been the only American aircraft on the list.  That doesn't make it an informed choice or a good choice.
