upgrade from 2 7600gt's and softh to ... gtx 460 & triplehead2go?

I guess... to save money, the ati 5670? and active displayport adapter would be the way to go?

I did build my present computer, but its been a while since i have been reading/etc. the present computer world.

I saw at tiger direct the 5670 is 74.99,  are they really that cheap? or i am not looking the right 'version' of 5670?

I always liked the nvidia, the gtx looks really nice, but two cards plus the triplehead2go really adds up.

You will want the 5830, 5850 or the 5870  They start at 169.99 from XFX on NewEgg and go up.  I like the XFX cards because of two things... Lots of good experience with them and their warranty.

so i went to new egg. found a combo xfx 5830 and 650w power supply and found the active displayport adapter (single). then checked the 5830 at the ati site. eyefinity is not supported by xp.

couldn't believe it. i will have to 'find' a copy of either vista or win 7 to eyefinity.

I keep telling you that you dont need the triplehead thing at all if you use two cards! Now your going to buy an Ati plus a PSU plus an OS?

Did not know you were running XP, nothing in your posts... you could invest in either card.  Either way you can carry the card or card/psu over to new build.

yes, running xp. have a msi-7220 mb. 500w psu. air cooled.

didn't want to make any1 crazy. only want to run ah2 on 3 monitors with the better graphics/details and better frame rate.
I want to get rid of the softh software that allows me to play presently on 3 monitors but hinders the use of both video cards (7600gt's) this program is not compatible with cards enabled with sli.

now it comes to getting either the gtx 460 cards or ati 5830s.
I do appreciate everyones help.
