Giving the missus a Christmas present
« on: December 05, 2010, 08:47:02 PM »
I doubt anyone will miss me other than as a target, but I'm going to take a break from AH.  Lately it's seemed like when I sign on all I can find is a horde - usually one per side, including mine, which makes for game play I don't really enjoy.  Tonight when I signed into Blue (Orange was closed, but I've been flying Blue anyway) again, all I could find was a horde - but this time it was to be outnumbered 3 to 1 or more at every base.

Time for some balance in my obsessions.  I'll check back in sometime next year.

<S> and out.

Like, ya know, when that thing that makes you move, it has pistons and things, When your thingamajigy is providing power, you do not hear other peoples thingamajig when they are providing power.

I'm away from game too much with work for me to ever break I believe.......  But every now and again an AH sabbatical is not a bad thing at all.  The game will eventually wake you up in the middle of the night.... Then, you shall return!!!

:salute Ghastly breaks are a must for sure.

Last night in orange OddCaf and I headed out to the big red dar that was swarming a field of ours. (FHs were already down at attacked field) Anyway, it was captured by the time we got there and everyone had left except for 4 or 5 flying around low trying to bait us into their ack when we got there. We ended up shot down of coarse. We reupped and not a sole there when we arrived.

Went to the next big dar...same thing. I don't know how long Odd was at it before I logged on, but I spend at least 3 hours total just trying to get to a fight only to find the fields deserted for the most part when I got there.

By the time the alert calls went out, the hangers were down or the field was so swarmed with enemy planes that there was no way in hell you could get up in the air.
The maps are just too damned big IMO and it seems like all anyone wants to do is just blast a base with everything they got, capture it, wait in a while...regroup and do it somewhere unexpected again. At least with the big radar rings we had time to put up a defence.I don't know what the answers are to fix this but surely this isn't what HTC had in mind when they started this game.....

Can I have a 38 J or L and some icons?  Probably not. Last time I was in AvA i had to fly a 109 , which i dont want to fly, couldn't see the planes and had Cactus up my arse every sortie. There was one other guy in there besides Cactus and everytime I headed his way, he go to the field ack.

A) sometimes you can
B) I'll cheerfully tell you exactly where I am
C) I don't run to the ack unless it's yours (well because I'm kind of stupid), I don't ho on purpose (though accidents do happen), if we're in a knife fight and we collide I feel like a jerk, and I think I'm generally a fairly fun guy to fly with and against.

Uptown I'd be happy to tell you when I'm going to be on and I'd be very happy to see you in there.  I'm sure I could learn a lot from you.  <S>

And I hope to see you back soon Ghastly.
