OK, this is the new machine I built up with the Athlon 1600 XP and an ASUS 7100 GeForce2MX.

Obviously, it is WAY slower than the old machine. The Onion comparison says that if I swap the GeForce2 GTS in there I should get an increase of 291% up to about 3900 Marks.

So, the next step is pretty obvious  :)

Will try that later today... got to do some work right now.

WOW!

Looks pretty close to what that Onion site predicted I would get if I went to a GeF3ti5.

I'm eyeballing the sales from here to Christmas. Surely some GeF3 company/reseller is going to blink.

Guess I'll have a "near new" ASUS GeF2MX for sale pretty soon... it's too weak to even put in the kids computer!

Hey.. are ya gonna show Fatty's mom sitting at your computer?

The Ti200 is a good buy over a regular GeForce3 (original). The Ti500 shopped right is only $100 more and you can overclock the piss out of the core to 260+ and memmory to 560. Try that on a Ti200.

I'll tweak it out for a optimum benchmark, but this is 1600.

You can tweak an original GF3 just as high as a Ti500, and they are cheaper. Last I checked, Newegg had Gainward Gf3s for $230. I run mine at 250 core/530 memory, but it will clock higher.

Probably, what can ya do.

Im not going to argue techy stuff I really know little about. I do know newegg is a nice site but I had trouble getting my card shipped, and was getting the run around so I just bought the card Maximum PC rated a 10 off the rack. $100 aint worth pissin around with.

Besides, the Athlon 1600 was $139 Retail version and the 1900 $288, so I wasted the savings on my graphics.      :p

Edit- Oh and my friend Eric has the exact Geforce3 card. We just tried your settings, no go. Artifacting all to hell at 225, black screen 230.

Here is what I came up with after reading about the Geforce 3 Via bug and changing my AGP Aperture from 64 to 128 to fix it. I had 5746 before I increased my aperture. Everything is running at factory settings no overclocking.
