error message on start up

the game is giving me a  initialization failed with -9 mainWLD_FAILED -1     having a slight hard drive problem but i thought i could at least play alittle bit,   guess not if this is a major fix

The error message means the game executable cannot find its resource files to load.  Usually occurs when someone accidently moves the executable to the desktop, rather than creating a shortcut to it, or from trying to run the incorrect executable from the desktop.

Remove the desktop ICONS for the game, then simply re-install the game, over the top of the current installation. to fix it and all your settings will be preserved.

good so far,   now im up to the online arenas and the updater keeps popping up,   is this normal im thinking it is,  lots of updates over the years

The current game version is "Version 2.21 Patch 4" (upper left corner of the stratup screen).  If you are far behind that, you might as well download the full version and install it over the top of your current installation.

had the same idea now that the game wont even launch,  think ill just order the game,faster then downloading it

A fresh download of the latest version from the main page Download's page should be faster than a mailed copy.

Start it before you go to bed and let it download all night, or through the day while your away.

with my connection speed walking would be faster,    and i knew where the game download link is,  and its alittle over 200 megs

If your nearby local library has a computer with a CD burner, that's the fastest and cheapest way to get it.

Or use one of those usb thumb drives. They're great for this type of thing, and something to keep in mind for down the road.
