New computer blues lol

So, I go to fire up AH after getting everything set up.  Stick, throttle, and pedals all plugged into my Belkin powered USB hub just like on my old computer.  They are detected in Windows, I calibrate everything.  

Go into AH and nothing works but the stick.  Game seems to see the throttle and pedals but they won't do anything.  

Switch the powered hub to a different USB port, now I cant even calibrate anything in Windows.  The computer sees the stuff (well, CH manager does anyway) but nothing moves when I try to calibrate it.  What is going on here?  

When I plug the joystick into the hub, I get a message saying that the CH Fighterstick was installed successfully.  When I go into the CH Manager screen and add it, then click on test/calibrate, the stick is stuck in the upper left corner and won't move, and none of the buttons light up when I click on them.  Nor will the stick move from the upper left corner.  The hub worked great on my old computer, why won't it work now?

Well I guess it isn't the hub after all... I just plugged the stick into the front of the computer and the same thing happens.  I'm really baffled here...

Make sure to poll from CH Manager (find the controls) and then calibrate everything there (in CH Manager) before setting anything in AH. Then dont ever move the USB Hub from the USB port its plugged into. At most you should have to move controls throughout their travel to be calibrated once in the game.

Yea I uninstalled CH manager and plugged everything back in, and it works.

Actually got an update... apparently it is a problem but not with the joystick.  Happens to my trackIR too...  when the computer goes to sleep ad wakes back up, the trackIR and joystick stuff doesn't respond.  The computer knows it is there, but it won't do anything, unless I unplug it and plug it back in.

Go into the various USB settings in Device Manager, and under each device, look for the Power Management tab and uncheck "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power."

That should help with it going to sleep.

Did that already, it didn't solve it. 

I've done some poking around and it looks like the solution is to unplug the peripheral and plug it back in .

I always just disable standby and hibernation modes.  When I don't plan on using the computer in a while I simply shut it down.

Otherwise I have my monitor set to go blank after 10 minutes (no screen saver)

Under the Power Options of Control Panel for Windows 7 you should select Change advanced power settings and then USB settings and finally USB selective suspend setting. Disable them both.

Ditto. I utilize the time its not being used to run my AV updates and system scans. Which I run nightly
