Stick with Win98 SE!
I like my ABIT KT7 RAID ( easy BIOS adjustments) but if ur not gonna run a mirror HDD then go for the KT7.
If your into music the SB lIve Pro has a nice feature. Otherwise the value is a good card.

I have an Asus A7V mobo and love it.
My brother got the newest version of it and it is just as sweet.  Matter of fact the 1ghz tbird he got was overclockable from the factory (whoops)

As for case/powersupply I am running an enlite with no problems.  After talking with Skuzzy today in the arena I will prolly look to an Antec next time.  Both are really good cases with quality powersupplies.

Also look at getting at least 1 more extra fan to keep her cool.

the "266" is the bus speed. The progression went from 66 to 100 to 133 to 200 and now 266. Think of it as the highway your info travels around on while it is moving from place to place on your motherboard. The wider, higher the better. Be sure your ram is 133 speed.

nice specs

Ah, someone has done their homework!

All of those are good choices.  I'd pick either the Asus a7v133 or the abit kt7a as your motherboard.  Both are excellent.  (I do prefer Asus, but the abit is good too.)

You might consider saving some money and getting the 1.2 Tbird, but if you get the kt133a chipset, pay the extra buck and the the Athlon "c" version.  (This means the 133 Mhz DDR "266 Mhz" version.)

You need to make sure you get a good powersupply and case for that system.  (The Athlon systems make a good room heater too.   Make sure the case has a spot for a rear fan and it large enough to be cooled well. )  Also, get a GOOD heatsink and fan.  Go to www.tomshardware.com  and look for the "Lord Kyro reviews 24 heatsinks" article.  Buy one of the better heatsinks on this list.  (The one that impressed me is the Noise Control Silverado, but unfortunately it'd cost over $100 US to get it to the US after shipping.  If you want to see it go to www.noisecontrol.de  .  Maybe one of our German friends could send you one.   )  Don't buy the Swifttech, it's a pain to install and is LOUD.  It's for serious overclockers.

Oh, make sure you have someone who has experience mount the processor and heatsink on the board.  It's not that hard to destroy your precious $200 processor if you mess up.    Those heatsinks fit TIGHT TIGHT TIGHT (add 20 more tights here).  All that pressure is being put on the cpu core, which is about the size of a penny but square.  I've cut myself just about everytime I've mounted one of these beasts if I tried to use my fingers to depress the clip.  Using a screwdriver is better, but that's even scarier, one slip and you've punched a hole in the MB!
