Ill be darned, I didnt know that he was into warbirds?

Very cool

Great post

Gilmour still flies the Stearman (2nd plane) he sold his Folland Gnat (but not 100%).

http://www.brain-damage.co.uk/miscellaneous-articles/david-gilmour-and-intrepid-aviation-2.html   He started "Intrepid Aviation" to care for his planes, but it "became too much of a business hassle" so he sold it and kept the Stearman.   "I just have a nice old biplane that I pop up, wander around the skies in sometimes..." - David Gilmour

Also, Learning to Fly was written after he solo'd his first flight.   The middle portion is Nick Mason going through the Pre-Flight with the Tower of the airport they took lessons at.

I noticed in the link above that he has a 51D with the shark mouth. Do you know if that's an actual WW2 skin or not?
Lighten up Francis
