FLAGS! What does red mean?

OK.. I know the white flag means it's ready for capture (assuming that Ack is down), and I know a 'fresh town' is a blue/white flag.. but WHAT THE HECK does the red/white flag mean?

I've heard it means the town is partially down, but not enough for the take however I've seen the flag switch directly from blue/white to white while picking off buildings one or two at a time (not an instantaneous bomb drop) so I am hesitant to accept that explanation.

I've also heard that it means the town ACK is down, but not the buildings but I've seen too many RED flags to accept that conclusion either.

A third explanation I've heard is that the town has healed above the threshold, but isn't back to 100% yet.

Personally I think the third one makes the most sense, but I'd like to settle this once and for all...

the flag colours are the same as the clipboard base country colours arent they? for me knits are blue and the others are red or orange.

I don't think so.. I've seen both blue and red on both sides of the fence... at least I think so... maybe I'll pay more attention to that theory when I'm on tonight...

Bish are green, Nits are blue, and Rooks are red..... I think.  Also it would be nice if they flag had some animation to make it look like it's blowing in the wind, rather than looking like a picture of a flag that's blowing in the wind.

That would be nice, but have the animation an "advanced graphics option" so people with older computers don't have to suffer when flying near a town.

Can anyone else comfirm this?  As a rook I recall attacking both bish and knights and I don't EVER recall seeing a green flag..  I still could be mistaken though.

I can. Bish are flying the green flag. Knights have the blue one.

RGR I just flew around offline real quick and confirmed this as well.  I could have "sworn", but then again EVERYONE I talked to swore up and down that the different colors had something to do with the status of the town (up/down/inbetween).

In any case it's a moot point now.  Thanks for the help.  I'll be sure to relay the information along so there's no more confusion.

You ever notice the Red Rook flag kinda looks like the Maple Leaf Forever?  I have mixed feelings about shooting at it now.

Not that it's going to stop me.
