Bad influence on my boys,US Navy fans
« on: December 17, 2010, 04:59:56 PM »
Went to visit my Mother on the other side of the country, had to renew my pilot medical. Costs 400 bucks in this funny little country. She had got the attic cleared which includes all my old magazines and a bunch of models I made or half made back in the day. So I threw them all into a box for my boys, 4 years and 2 years. I'm a bit of a US Naval aviation fan. When I got home the first thing the eldest went for was the A6 Intruder. Second fav was the F4U which is my favourite. I've put them to bed now and they insisted on bringing a couple of airplanes with them.

Well son number one is lying there with the F4U on his face and son number two is literally lying there fast asleep clutching a Hellcat by the tail.

Does anyone else think it's all genetic?

Genetic, no.  Rediculously adorable and cute, yes.   :aok

I know I inherited my love for WWII aviation through my dad, so it could be.  I played with my airplanes more than I ever did with my hot wheels cars and trucks.  Your boys remind me of how I was as a kid, I would dream about dog fighting and sleep with my planes.  He plays some WWII flight sims but just can't seem to get the hang of this game.  Maybe one day though.   :aok

I'm the only one in my family who really enjoys aviation (Except those not related to me directly). I never met my grandfather (who fought on Okinawa), so I have no clue if he liked aviation or not. Post photos of the little guys  :aok

My Grandfather was a USAAF Test Pilot, his brother flew B-17s, his other brother 24s. This on my mother's side. On my fathers side, I have two World War Two generation pilots as well. I'm going into military aviation now, with a love for 17s, and a mild fondness for 24s... Oh, and I'm adopted. It wouldn't surprise me if it is genetic. If not, good job conditioning the boys! Keep it up and we'll have new AHers in no time!
