When I was young, we moved from Dugway, Utah to some "stick & plum" spot in the southwest corner of South Dakota, then to Salmon, Idaho, then to a mining camp near Bethel, Alaska of all places, then to Palmer, Alaska. After that I lived in Anchorage and then Fairbanks on my own before finally moving here to my dad's farm in Eastern Oregon.
Trust me. One move, fine. But when your dad works as a geologist in a suffering mining industry during another economy crunch (late 1970's to all through the 80's), it tends to put a big strain on family in all sorts of ways. I had a rough upbringing as a result.
