UBB Won't Refresh?
« on: February 28, 2001, 04:19:00 PM »
For the last week, UBB threads won't update.  I'm using IE 5.5 with Winblows 98.

I can in the forum listing that a thread has say 10 responses and the last one was 5 minutes ago.  But when I click on it to view it, It shows maybe 4 responses, and the last one was 24 hours ago.

I hit refresh to update, but that works maybe one out of 5 times.

Happening on this board, AGW, and the Targetware UBB.

Any ideas?

Sounds like Exploder has fubared to me, in your control panel go to add/remove programs, highlight I.E. 5.5 and click remove.

You will get the choice of adding componets, removing or repairing exploder, choose repair and reboot when it prompts you.

I believe UBB has issues with their cookie code.  Never seems to work right for me.  I always see lit lightbulbs next to every forum even if there hasn't been new messages posted.

Use the following in internet properties "home page" Sancho, it should fix the cookie problem.

funked, same thing was happened to me, I tried everything even deleting all the IE5 files.

surprisingly it was the ISP. some isp save common files (like bbs threads) wich are small in size so they dont waste much bandwidth downloading again.

try another isp and see if it fixes it
