Ok, here's what I did, and it worked beautifully!

I used Partition Magic 6 to reduce the size of my primary partition from 45 gigs to 23 gigs. I then created another partition (D

with the remaining 22 gigs. I installed win2k using fat32 file system in that partition. Since it used FAT32 I downloaded drivers for my videocard, SB Live, Service pack 1, Athlon AGP patch, via 4 in 1 4.29s, DX 8a, etc. (My MB does have an onboard Promise ATA 100 controller, but I don't use it, regardless I downloaded that driver too. I haven't installed it yet though...)
Win2k boots about 2x as fast as 98 and doesn't yet seem much slower. I might try playing AH in 2k soon, but much to do before that.
