Here's my somewhat limited knowledge:

Go to your SETTINGS tab under DISPLAY, and select VGA STANDARD for a video driver.  Then reboot.  You'll have the ugly 8 color 640 res screen after re-boot.  Now, un-install your old card after shutting it down again, and re-install your new card.  When windows detects your new card, it will most likely ask for a disk or directory where the new drivers are found.  If it doesn't, install them manually from the disk that came with your card (same method as above) or, I highly suggest getting the latest drivers off their website.

Goodluck!

Also, you can get the latest drivers for your new card here: http://www.guru3d.com/

and they have a wonderfully informational BBS where all my questions have been answered quite quickly.

Rip is basically correct.  First you right click desktop, pick properties at the bottom, settings tab, advanced button, adapter tab, click change, click next (I think, I'm not at a windows box right now), find microsoft on the list that pops up, pick standard vga, click ok a few times and then restart.  Your screen will look terrible.  Shut down the computer, remove old card, put in new one.  Start back up, load drivers off cd.
