Absolutely bad idea...for those who play for rank and score. 

Pretend I'm one of the score/rank guys:
I'm fighting with a guy, a friendly ignores my "I'm good please stay out".  Then another, and another...soon I've got 5-6 "helpers" and now my hard-earned kill (if I'm even awarded the kill) is worth 1/6?  WTF?  How's that fair?

You are assuming they are all trying to kill him for score which is simply not true.  Most of those guys just want to record a kill.

Ok, next time I'm in a good fight and others jump in to "help" even when I call them off...I'll just fly away and do some sightseeing.  I guess you want the bullies to rule the playground.  "Hey, that one green guy seems to be having fun...let's gang that single con he's fighting and he'll just leave so we can have fun instead of him."

By staying in, how are you not becoming a bully yourself?

If the fight is your fun it has already been ruined. Why contribute to further ruining it for your opponent?

It's amazing the amount of times I get jumped, alone, by more than 5 guys. What's more amazing is the name of the guy who gets the kill. usually some 733t stick who you'd assume wouldn't need to gang so hard but quite obviously does.

I agree this is a little extreme.. I did see your name on a people to kill list the other day. Maybe the mob attacking you thought there was a reward. LOL.

Seriously though, as others have said, it's simply a matter of you being the only target in the area, seen it done with both red and green guys, it's not news.
