OK I'm sure HTC will hate me for bringing this up. And yes I know they have made comments about not bringing in very heavy ordinance, but.....
I wonder if they will model this, the 10,000lbs Pumpkin bomb.
[NOTE: The conventional bomb has three contact fuses vs. the four horns that were on the nose of the Atomic bomb.]
This is not the Fat Man atomic bomb, this was a 10,000 lbs conventional bomb that was used to test the aerodynamics for the later Atomic bomb.
51 of these bombs were dropped on Japan in 16 separate missions from the 20th of July to 14th of August.
The following B-29s of the 509th flew these missions;
44-27296 "Some Punkins"
44-27297 "Bockscar"
44-27298 "Full House"
44-27299 "Next Objective"
44-272300 "Strange Cargo"
44-272301 "Straight Flush"
44-272302 "Top Secret"
44-272303 "Jabit III"
44-272304 "Up an' Atom"
44-272353 "The Great Artiste"
44-272354 "Big Stink"
44-86291 "Necessary Evil"
44-86292 "Enola Gay"
The only 2 509th bombers that did not carry a pumpkin were;
44-346 "Luke the Spook"
44-86347 "Laggin' Dragon"
So it was used in squadron strength (But only by the special
Silverplate B-29s) and 261 had been delivered to the AAF by the end of Aug 45, and 225 were in production at the time (out of a total order for 1,000)
I seriously doubt HTC would add this, but it is some interesting history.
