ty for replies, dont feel like it was only me it was happing to anymore.

I know the tactics i should employ for bombers, but placing my self in the correct spot is the problem.  Ok if im planning to track and chase them, its when i come across them during a battle. I find myself torn between a futile attempt at protecting the base or just letting them go if im not in the perfect spot.

If your defending, Just kill the lead a/c or distract enough to make him miss..

i never bail from a bomber i like to stay alive and make it back home for that so called "squad name in lights". if they bail dont worry they just lack the skill to gun enemy fighters and quiet frankly SUCK at the game.

couple nights ago, was bombing the rook HQ in a mossie bomber, a tempest came up after me, but couldnt catch up to me. i ended up taking a pilot wound from flak. me and the tempest ended up having a kind of high-level chase for 2 sectors.during which i was having bad blackouts from the pilot wound. eventually i realised i wasent gonna make it back to base before i died from the pilot wound, so i just ended up bailing to save time. i went on 200 to <S> the rook temp pilot for a fun chase, but then they pm'ed me calling me a running wuss, and that i should go to the DA and learn to fight. i pm'ed them back asking them how i was ment to fight back in a plane with no guns. they never responded.

I up buffs all the time and bail out sometimes, and I consider it since fighters decide when and how to attack to get advantage, that it is my right also to either bail out or fight depending on if i have advantage to get a kill or bail out to annoy some wuss that decides to take 20 min to attack.

Well sir,  :salute to you to have the courage to tell the truth.  I'm sorry but that does not excuse what most of consider to be extremly lame gameplay.  You chose the aircraft, no one makes you fly bombers, so fly them and make it home, or die in them, period.  Complaining about a guy who uses his aircraft correctly, sets up a good attack, and is patient enough to consider his approach and execute it, and you think he has earned the title of "wuss" because of this?

I suppose we are going to have to disagree on this, unless you "get it" some day and change the way you play because what you describe IMO is a pathetic excuse.
Look at it this way, if everyone bailed when they were, as you put it "at a disadvantage", imagine what this game would be like.  Would you like to be responsible for showing new guys the "bomb and bail" method or a civil and sportsmanship game.

I choose to give more than I take, or at least I feel I do, to this game.

Finally, I truly understand how you feel as I was once as you are.  Not here but in Warbirds.  I played as you described.  I am still very embarrassed for playing that way.  Even though I completely changed the way I played for the last 2 years in Warbirds, it still embarrasses me to this day.

Man to man, I now ask you to consider your actions, see the possible flaws in your thinking, and make a change for the better.

Thank you sir, and again  :salute

I haven't read the whole thread but just an opinion, I've noticed that most fighters at least try to make it back to base, with or without kills.  I think it's out of self respect and respect for there toon planes. I think for the bombers, people just don't have the same  level of respect for the roll it has in the game, and the capability it really has especially with a little team effort.

Maybe a better perk system would suffice to the bombers "bomb and bail" issue.  That way people would get a better sense of worth for the plane. Take note this would have no effect on the already respected bombers...

Whenever i fly bombers i look forward to using my guns to shoot down fighters.  Dropping bombs isn't the fun part, its fighting your way out that is fun.

To begin with I hardly auger and there's no flaws in my thinking.  If you were in an 190 and I was in a spit you wouldnt think twice of diving for the deck to save your plane thus denying me a kill.  If it bothers you then think of it as me being the 190 that just dove straight down to deny you a kill.

It's silly to try to force somebody else to play a game the way you want it played.  I fly the spit8 about 80% of the time, i just love it.  but you dont see me coming here posting that fw190's, ponies, p47's etc., should try to turn fight me because I see it the same way as bailing.

It's completely different. Diving to the deck in a 190 to gain seperation instead of turnfighting a Spit is using one plane's strengths against the other plane's weakness. Bailing from a bomber is not. Climbing to higher alt to make it difficult to the enemy fighter would be, as well as turning your buffs so that the fighter always ends up on your six. The same thing as bailing from a buff to prevent "getting killed" would be bailing form a fighter

And actually it doesn't even prevent you from getting killed - it just denies your enemy a potential kill, you still "die" for Ah purposes.
