new system
« on: March 12, 2000, 07:19:00 PM »
Just installed a new system and thought someone might be interested in what I found out...

WinSE on pIII3 650E with ASUS p3b-f(?) with 256meg ram...

was getting 40+fps on a voodoo3500 but thought I would try Annililator PRO... fps is now in high 30s.. anybody have explanation?

Next was using microsoft sidewinder but felt the need for pedals... bought CHUSB pedals and they are working just fine.. combat stick did ok but was big for my hand.. went to a USB logitech 3D extreme which suits me better.... I also had on my other system a SBLive and got the same frame "suspendsion" problems when there was a significant noise change... when I fired guns nothing happened for 2 sec... not a good way to live..  based on that I put a monster board in anfd no such problems so far...

Thats it....

Wow, sounds like a great system!!<grabs canvas bag with assorted claw bars and lock picks> I have that PRO thingie too.  Am running it on a PII 450 using 32 bit and am getting upper 30's low 40's<jots down madog's address>Try running it in 16 bit and see if that doesn't increase the frame rate.<starts car in the dark of night>

With a system like that there is only one way to spell video card:
"G-Force Pro"

You'll easily double your FPS
