They are doing that down here as well but if you can't tell a real deer from a fake one you need a ticket . They have three on a Mary-go-round like thing here where they can pop up and take it down in a hurry . I have already had it in my scope .Could not figure out what it was so I walk out to it . It was working too but did not see the AGENTS no where . I got the heck out of there right fast like .Good thing I did not shoot from the road or I would have been BUSTED ...That's what they are after down here . I bet they did not know what to think when I walked out to it . I know that they were there some where , lol .Freak me out !!

Would have to agree with Golfer, nothing against hunting but if I see it all the time where I go I can imagine the discompfort a noob family out on a drive might have comming around the bend in a road and encountering a group of rifle-toting old men standing in the middle of the road... not to mention the road hazard (which is my gripe, 55mph speed limit and I don't want no speed bumps with rifles! ).  Especialy since if he wants to go about it lazily he can go legaly sit in a treehouse or shoot from the seat in his boat in some states I believe.

here in Oregon we get 1 deer a year, granted if you can find one that's not living on a pay to hunt Ranch, the state has killed off any good hunting by allowing and supplementing these big ranches to care for the Elk and Deer during the winter, they get big and fat and lazy and just remain on the ranches year round mostly, most of the large ranches (they all border BLM land) are all fenced with 10ft pig wire, with locked gates that they open ( durning the ruts) to let the Animals in, If you get caught on any of the ranches its jail time or worse ya get Shot at, but if you have 4 to 5 grand they will "let" you hunt on there land, sure you have your state tag drawings for the area's also, but the amount of tags sold for each area is far far more than the wildwife in the area, ( thanks ranchers)

 i used to really love to hunt and looked forward to ever season, but now with how much it costs and how scarce the Animals are ( on blm land ) it's turned into the rich mans sport here

Yeah, hunters from Oregon go through the trouble to come down into California even for some better results I hear (and see, via the oregon plates on their trucks/cars).

Yep, in IA we hunt deer the proper way....  With our cars.  

Just to be clear, hitting them with our cars.  I bagged two of em in the last decade, and have the repair estimates to prove it!

The only reason they give you a ticket instead of jail for poaching in Indiana is because there are so many deer, and someone shooting one out of season saves someone's car or life down the road as " THEY " see it.

I hunt within the law I do not poach, and I do not hunt with those who do.
