I laughed at the trailers. All these remakes because there are no longer any quality writers.
Its actually a damn good series. FAR FAR better then the original movie
By FAR better then anything being put out by Hollywood in the theaters or on the major networks for that matters.
And the baseline story is more historically accurate then the Kirk Duglass version. Obviously the day to day events are fictionalized but it is done very well.
Gotta get past the effects of the first couple of episodes first though as its a bit overdone (Think 300 meets the Matrix) As the series progresses you can see whoever was in charge of the effects mature to where its a bit more believable. The actors are doing a top notch job with several of them such as Batiatus,(Owner of the ludus) and Crixus You both like and hate at the same time.
