Film Quality
« on: January 24, 2011, 12:31:01 PM »
I have noticed that many of the AH films I've seen posted have what seems to be "super" quality.  Is that just a function of the graphics settings when the film was taken or is there something in post production that gives that very realistic feel?

I dont have the most powerful graphics engine (running XP in bootcamp on an iMac), and I dont have the settings maxed.  Does that mean my films will be be substandard, or does it matter the computer your viewing the films on?

If I remember, the film viewer uses the game engine for playback.  You can go into the game and bump up the graphics, then quit and fire up the film viewer and it will play back with the higher quality settings.  Be warned though, your system is still your system  :D so it will probably render slow and possibly be jerky.

The quality films you see are made with exterior programs..sony vegas and the like..

You are still able to view all the high end graphics when you watch your films ...it is all there...however to do so before you enter the film viewer you will need to open aces....go offline and turn all the goodies on...quit out till you get to the first opening page and max the slider in video settings.....(helps to have Hi res pack) oh yes and set to 1024.....open the film viewr and there you will notice that your films have all the goodness on show.....this may cause stutters when viewing though, dependant on your machine.....when making a film, film it at half speed...this will help alleviate this....

as I said in the first sentence...it is the film making program from here that gives the good looks that some of these guys get... from this point it may be of use to look in the films and screenshots section...there are some helpful hints on how to use the and set up shots within the viewer.

Ah, yes.... I knew there was a place for that... I'll check out the films and screenshots forums.  Thanks for the info! :rock
