Great reading folks!

I just realized that even I can add to this post...
There is a player in this game who's name is the Eskimo word for the noodle bone of a walrus.
It is a surprisingly large bone that Eskimos use for scrimshaw carving, probably only second to tusks.

This player, is of course, my brother, 0osik.

So the next time you see 0osik online holler:
"How's is goin? YA BIG FAT WALRUS DICK!"

when I joined VF14 IRONANGELS long time ago back to FA they picked me this callsighn - VF14_GHOST.... been GHOST ever since.... when came to AH seen Ghosth and even I dont get suffix F I still wanted to go for it (sorry Ghosth for inconvinience it has caused to you) started to think what I could pick for a callsighn with GHOST in and found GHOSTy - like something really small and funny... wonder if you see it same way I do

Anyway people who know me call me Dmitry... or ghosty... sometimes its vfg

all are fine with me

Now I am in new squad for several reasons... but VF14's are still my best friends just as Flying Tigers... I will not trade vfGHOSTy for anything

Dupa is prettythang allright but my memory serves me that its in Hungarian... cant remmember whats it in Polish... could be dupa too

Should you ever read Adam Yashek's "Histories of a brave soldier Shveik" (not sure of the translation at all) you could probably have a lot of laughs... Also I am curios how our friends from Czech republick like Yashek?

Anywho I reccomend highly this set of novels for any FDB members... HIGHLY (if its been ever translated into English tho ) - very educational thing to read.. lmao

Holder. Hmmm, why did I choose it? Actually I didn't it chose me. Years ago when I first tried to sign up for WarBirds the damned screen demanded I give it a callsign. Blankness swept my brain. I tried something cool

.... "coyote". The screen burped back "Callsign Taken. Select another."

More blankness. A few synapses closed and the image of William Holden (the actor) came up out of the dust. Why?

I have no idea. I think he was in a war film I liked, or it was randomly generated by old LSD residues. I entered "Holden" and the screen burped back, "Callsign Taken. Select another." Having no fallback I panicked and typed "Holder". I got back "Callsign registered...Holder".

Oh christ! What a dumb callsign.

But, it wasn't totally dorky. It's slightly mysterious, in that it doesn't really mean anything (a holder of beer? of ultimate coolness?).

So I stuck with it. Still am. I mean, I'm Holder on-line, how could I change it?

My handle miko does not really mean anything.

My handle in WB was miko-- but the bulletin board did not allow anything but letters, so I had to register as "miko 2dashes" there until it crashed and I switched to "miko2d" which I kept when switching to AH - just as a login.

So please, call me miko, not miko2d, but if you do, I would not be upset.

Beeger is as much of Beegerite as would fit. Beegerite signifies one who inhabits a Beeger. A Beeger is a 30' Southwind Class A motorhome that got it's name from it's inhabitants, the Beegies. The Beegies evolved from what my wife and I used to call each other in 5th grade 45 years ago. We started with Honey Bucket which was then shortened to Oney Bucket and eventually as we got older and more sophisticated O.B. and Beegie. How's that for a tender love story for somebody who spends hours trying to kill others?

P.S. In my next incarnation I'm going for Cholo which is what my Spanish ancestors called the natives in my father's native Peru or maybe I go for Amos to remind me of the beautiful Pennsylvania Dutch country where I live.

in highschool my friends all decided to goof around and go by mock 60's spy show villian names.

when we met we would say meaningless things in code like "the blue tiara is on the red cow" which roughly translated meant "let's ditch class, get stoned and go watch the pink floyd laser light show at the planetarium..."

some of my friends were: drkraw(evil doctor), professor nonsense (whose talent was saying things that didn't make sense to confuse his enemies into submission), natasha(after the cartoon character on bullwinkle whose talent was well...ah hem), the 7-11 guy (whose disguise was that he worked at 7-11 and got us free shi7) and of course 'the infamous and evil mrfish'. it doesn't mean anything, it is just obscure and makes a good villian name.

Oh but it does in slang Spanish in parts of Latin America. It can mean love triangle, vertical smile, snatch, and so forth...

It originally meant something like small hairy monkey but I guess it got adapted to other meanings.

Well... I am from Czech Republic, I know the series of books, I have seen the movies abu I have never ever heard of Adam Yashek??? (It is a guy who translated it into your language?) because the whole series was writen by a famous Czech author Jaroslav Hasek

And yes I like Shvejk a lot...

Well I'm Swedish, but picked the name of the US Ace of Aces in world war 1 as my nickname when I discovered MUSHes in 1994. I've been Rickenbacker online ever since, and have even talked to Rick's grandson who said it was OK for me to use the name
