That has a different tail. I think it's the "Super DC-3" which the Navy adapted as the Navy C-117D. I prefer the original tail, myself.

yes it is a super DC-3... even says that on the listing :) but it still is a beautiful aircraft. i mean chrome landing gear... just need to put some spinners on it :)

     I managed to see one myself today.  It's airworthy, and I love the paintjob.

yup it came to PIT 3 years ago for the airshow. I believe it is the most origionally restored DC-3 out there.

Is that the 3 that sat outside "Air Transport Command" and is now down in Maryland?

couldn't think of the town. Not far from me. I remember when a drunk hit the plane outside the restaurant and knocked an engine off. I was actually thinking about volunteering my time although I know nothing about aircraft Restoration

DC-3 is the next plane we need  or a C-54 lol. Just gotta find a free one  :D
