Needed wepons for 109 and 190?
« on: February 06, 2011, 12:31:54 PM »
Came across this today and did a little more research on it.

This is what i found and wonder if 109 and 190 (might include the 37 mm flack gun on the 110) are needed upgrade of weapon systems.

Very cool pictures, never saw these before.  Thanks!

But these were one-offs.  That lower photo caption says the Bf-109F-2 was outfitted like this "Nur als Einzelstück" or "only as a unique example".  So I don't think that qualifies as having seen  service.  Sorry.

so if the picture is correct, those are rocket tubes installed into the 190s wings?
thats actually pretty clever, did it carry the 210mm anti-air rockets that the 190 in the game carries on its wingtips or a special type of rocket?

no It would not be 210mm, look at the size of the openings, the rockets would have been closer to the PB1 rockets on the F8

I never saw them either. I'm sure the drag from the openings in the wings and the weight would of been far less than they would of been from carrying those tubes around (with or without explosive bolts).

I'm sure many an Allied airman is thankful it never saw production.

After tests the RZ 65 was judged to be too ineffective and thus development was stopped.

They are RZ-65 rockets.
