You'll note he only made it to 40,000 feet without that precious cargo of 20,000 lbs of high explosives?

See the red zero "0" ? That's how many bombs he has onboard.

Probably had no gas left, either.


P.S. Haven't been home yet to try it out, but I find it awesome that you can collapse the nose gear now! Definite step up in regards to the finer details HTC works on!

I could have reached 40K with the bombs (was 33K on drop) but I would have needed to bring 100% fuel  and take another sector  :rofl

Should take a lot longer if your heavy with ord since the plane should only be climbing (at 33k) at about 50ft/min.

I am at work, but will try and post my latest flight in the B29s.  I took off and flew to the DA to test against live targets without the perk costs.  People may say it is fragile, but I ended up making a run dropping a p51 and typhoon(might have been tempest...not sure will review film) The P51 hit me with almost the whole nine yards before I killed him.  Bottom line I had pieces missing and lots and lots of holes, but made it home safely...no fires.

I had the same experience in the DA, except without shooting anyone down.  :frown:

Lots of hole and two fuel leaks but no fire. I figure I just never got lit up after the fuel started leaking.

What was the highest damage that anybody has landed so far? my highest has been 89,000ish

my squadie vNUCKS think if done right you can land 100,000 damage.

The bomb loadout certainly gives you the potential for this. 500lbs bombs on 12 different town centers results in >=50K landed damage (done this in a B-17 twice). The 29 can carry up to 40. Your main problem is that you most probably will run out of fuel before you can find 40 undamaged town centers ;) So in theory, just going by the ordnance capacity, the B-29 could be good for as much as 160,000 points landed damage (which, by the way, hasn't much to do with score at all)
