We have lost a few squad members to armed forces deployment as well as the economy, so we are back in full recruiting mode.
The 77th was formed in February of 2007 with the goal of putting like-minded players who believed in one thing = TEAMWORK.
The 77th is a "Jack-Of-All-Trades" squad. While it's nice to have a specialty (and many squaddies do), the 77th is looking for guys who if they don't already have an all around grasp on the game and all the different facets (dogfighting, attack, dive bombing, strategic base porking, strategic bombing, ground vehicles) or at least they are WANTING to learn it so they can do it well when the time comes. It's very common for a squaddie to do strategic bombing then strategic attack bombing and then ground vehicles all in the same hour. If you are looking for a squad where you can learn and excel at all the game offers--we're your squad. The emphasis overall is TEAMWORK.
We are RABID base-takers and are looking for other players who LOVE taking the enemy's real estate. If YOU love MISSIONS and taking bases--we're the squad for you!
The 77th is a squad where all squaddies are on the same side at the same time. Our squad does not swap sides and does not do tours of swapping sides. The squad voted to go rook in December of 2009 and have remained extremely loyal rooks since. Any squaddie caught changing sides is ejected from the squad. We want rooks to know we are there for THEM--concequently--they are there for us.
REQUIREMENTS:
1) Be 18 years old or older. No squeekers.
2) Be on a full subscription. No two-weekers.
3) Have a headset for VOX. This, so we can verify no squeekers.
4) Agree to always stay on the same side as the squad and be committed to teamwork.What we are: Mostly combat flight sim veterans. We are everything from rock-climbing instructors and retired Marine Corps Drill Instructors to retired police detectives and retired radio broadcast talent. One squaddie has experience going back 16 years ago to Air Warrior. Some have 6 and 7 years on Aces High. While that's all well and good, we do not mind helping newer players to not only find their niche in the game but learn all facets as well. No egos, bullys, or folks who look down on you. That's not us. We're regular guys from 18 to around 60 years old. Our squad LOVES TO TAKE BASES as well as helping other rooks TAKE BASES. Seeing enemy bases light up GREEN is just as fun as landing scalps--and
we are ALL ABOUT FUN! Also, thanks to many squaddies sense of humor, having somthing to clean the screen and keyboard handy because they made you laugh so hard you spit-taked soda all over them from laughing so hard is a good idea. These guys are a RIOT to fly with!
What we are not: If you are a lone-wolf, care more about your score than your squaddies, mainly enjoy furballing, or don't care much for teamwork and doing things together--we're definitely not for you. We're letting you know up-front so we do not waste your time. Also we're not trying to be mean about it in any form--it's just that there are already squads just for furballing and score building and that you might be far happier flying with them. We're also not screamers and folks who get all bent out of shape after being killed and rant on squad channel at 125 decibels...if we die--we quietly get in a new ride and go back to help the cause. There are also no ego folks in the squad. Everyone is respected.
How to apply: If you meet the simple requirements above, PLEASE feel free to come ROOK and join us on CHANNEL 170. If we're not there it's because we're either running missions on channel 171 or on the current mission VOX. You will find us though... look for:
ROX, climber, sarge, Stage2, EZRhino, Psych, or SWAPLT.
Please fly with us a week or two...just so we all know it's a good fit for everyone.
Even folks with less than a year's experience are welcome!
