Starting the Game
« on: February 23, 2011, 01:04:59 PM »
When I launch the game an error box pops up called
Aces High II: aceshigh.exe - Entry point Not Found

the body of the box expands...

The procedure entry point RIB_register_interface could not be located in the dynamic linl library mss32.dll     .

I click OK and the box pos up 2 more times after clicking ok.  After the 3rd OK is clicked, the game starts fine.

Any ideas.

Try this;

In the games "redist" folder, there is a list of DLL's.  They should all show the last date modified as 1/26/2011.  If that is the case, then copy the mss32.dll file up one directory and see if that fixes you.

If the modified date of the DLL's is NOT 1/26/2011, then remore the "redist" folder and re-install the entire game (no need to remove the game, just install over the top).

 I had the same problem and just saved my important files and deleted AH and started fresh. I then put the important files back in.

 I just figured a file got mixed up during the update so I just started from scratch.

Interesting.

Since the update, my Aces High game is totally hosed. Pretty much unplayable. I can load the game, select offline and choose a field and plane....however, after a few moments if I switch views or bring up the clipboard it dumps the screen and the sound loops. I then get the s/ds window. I haven't even tried online yet. I re-loaded the game and did the *.dll move as stated by Skuzzy...no change. I played the prior version just before the upgrade with no problems. However, since the new version I haven't been able to do much of anything. Can't pinpoint the problem. Also, in clipboard, if I select 'quit'...I get the same dropped screen and the sound loop. I am running XP. Plenty of RAM and a fast CPU (3.2mhz).

I also checked into dxdiag and I looked to see if there were any differences as before. None there either. (Read the other sound thread). It's probably something simple, just not sure what it is.
