Now the "Death Star"
« on: February 23, 2011, 02:38:20 AM »
Want want want. I'm sure Hitech and crew get tired of us. But can you imagine having a formation with 18 gunners!  :rofl :rofl :rofl Where'd everyone go. They are in Getback's b29s!

Another note, on the b29 the side gunners are useful now and the tail gun has a much greater scope.

I took one up offline and set the salvo at 10 and the delay at .30. I dropped on the first bomber hanger and it carried to the radar. Then dropped the second 10 that carried to the next bomber hanger. Then took the entire town down with the last 20 eggs. And I got a pilot wound. hehe.

If you could have gunners, ala Air Warrior, you would not have formations nor would you be able to gun yourself.

Imagine upping a single bomber and not being able to find a gunner most of the time.

Well you didn't think that through Angry. You can have a gunner now and still gun. Further it was a wild wish. I think the programming and computer limits would interfere with the whole idea. Still I don't know that much on the topic. I know AW had some issues.

Ahh.. but in AW.. you had to have the plane loaded out when you took off.  Nobody could join mid-flight.

And we did exactly that.

Often.

It has already been added. Look in the dueling arena at night.

In AW I used to take a fully loaded b17 with gunners and fly inverted for a while, used to drive them nuts. Old handle..Pakkus, Pepe Le Peu. Good times...

Ahhhh, memories of B-17 Death Star raids on the Spit factory. Hell, there were times we would up a couple of Death Stars, dump the eggs and go looking for "fun".

Those were great times, I do admit.  Load a deathstar with squaddies, grab the beer and do a meaningful strat run......so to speak.  We had a blast back then.

I remember one night we (the Cz) formed a raid with like 3-4 DeathStars and maybe 8 or so A26's also loaded with gunners. We went from the far northern C base all the way to the most SE base the Bz had. It was the most memorable mission for me in AW. I believe we even captured the base. I think we only lost 2 planes.. was freaking awesome.   :aok
