B-29 and 2048 skins
« on: February 28, 2011, 09:21:37 AM »
The B-29 is the first plane we've released that uses a 2048 skin texture due to it's large size.  When submitting skins, we always want you to submit in the highest resolution available, so with this plane please make sure you submit the skins in a 2048 format.  In order to export in 2048, you'll need to have 2048 selected in your video settings when you export the skin.

From another thread I started a little while ago (since pushed down on the forum):

I could tell from the screenshots on the front page it was either higher res or more bitmaps.

That said, I think it was a valid move to give us more pixels for the B-29. With that in mind, will we be seeing more pixels for the other heavies? While the B-29 is a huge huge plane, the B-17 and B-24 aren't too far behind. Their bitmaps are a bit scrunched and compacted.

I believe we should not see 2048 for fighters or even light/medium bombers, but for the 4-engine heavies, will we be seeing more resolution in the future?
