It's always been bad news when someone goes MIA over there. Like the Navy guys who went missing. It's bad stuff, but he's a Marine so I'm keeping hope.

I don't want to get this thread off-topic, but at Junky and Tr1gg22 (or anyone else interested in Al-Qaeda): check out the book 'Looming Tower' - it's a great read about how that stuff all got started, and what they do.
Afk for a year or so.  The name of a gun turret in game.  Falanx, huh?
Apparently I'm in the 20th FG 'Loco Busters', or so the legend goes.

It is politically correct to say "wars suck", no doubt.  When a blind eye is turned to the issues that cause small conflicts, then major and more costly conflicts occur.  When the big boys on the block stay home and let the little guys duke it out, or let the little guys egg the houses the big boys live in and get away with it, it all leads to larger and worse things.  Just look at history.

Each and every life lost, regardless of they are allied military, civilian, or even "baddies", are tragic.  If we look at the cost in military personnel and resources, this conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan are quite low compared to what they could have been if a blind eye would have been turned.

Best of luck to the marine and the his family.  May God be with him and as he gets back to safety.

today i overheard one of my friend talking on the phone on the way out of school. it really wasnt pretty and it sure isnt good. his brother who serves as a US marine has gone MIA over in Afghanistan. the last time he was seen was about 1 day ago and they havent recieved word from anyone on his whereabouts. my friend is completely loosing it. lets just hope this war ends soon and he gets back to safety.

i think that all wars are just a waste of money, time, resources and most importantly-LIFE. its powered by greed and hatred, if we cant get our act togethor in afghanistan then just get the hell out. its all pointless.

EDIT: he has been found after going missing for 5 days and is now heading back home. he had a severe bullet wound in his left leg and can hardly walk at all, which just makes it all the more worse for him.  at least he got back alive...

:salute all that serve, have served and will serve.
