What is so funny, Logan?

Game companies like HTC often hire outside consultants to do that kind of work for them. I'll bet they have a contract with someone that was probably started when they wrote their TOS, Billing, and Privcy Statements.

You should have reported the website to HTC and let their legal team take care of getting the that website and program shut down.

Yep, I have reported and sent websites I came across claiming such things to Skuzzy

Rumor has it, that it is quite easy to cheat in this game. :noid

I do not see a purpose in it though. What is the fun?

I own a small business myself, and I refer to my attorney as "my attorney" but i don't employ any risk management people fulltime.  The last thing HTC will ever want to do is have to call in the sharks...... I mean lawyers.   :salute

So I'm just laughing at the way I, me personally, read AKAK's statement.

I played this game for a long time, and I never once saw something that I considered an "aimbot."  Such a hack would be pretty obvious to everyone involved, and the hit percentage would be a dead give away.

There is more variables that you could change potentially than just your aim.

Sure, but having played games where cheating was abundant (Raven Shield for example), it's pretty obvious when someone exploits.  Over countless engagements in Aces High, I never once felt that an opponent performed in a suspicious way outside the parameters of his plane.  Can it happen?  Quite possibly, but I doubt the kinds of people who would resort to cheating would be so subtle as to make it undetectable.

If someone is creating and posting a program that allows you to cheat in Aces High, you can pretty much bet the farm that HTC would call in their legal team to take care of it and have the offending program and website removed.

Remember Pellik (not the pelik that was in the Nomads)?  He thought he was being subtle when he created his little hack that turned on the LCS in the main arenas, until he found out that the servers have a cheat detection system in place and got nabbed and booted from the game.

Having Pellik do that was the biggest waste... he neither needed to cheat nor was the griefing sort from my experience with him. He taught me a lot before he disappeared, I had nothing but respect for him up until he pulled that stunt.

I agree, it was a waste because he didn't need it.  For some reason he got it into his mind that there were some using such a program so he felt it was okay to use one himself to even out the playing field.

I laughed at you referring to "their legal team" as if they have a full firm of sharks waiting for their phonecall.

EDIT:  You also have to realize the difference between criminal and civil proceedings.... When a government office is involved in a criminal case, they already have a DA on staff, that they pay for.  For private organizations however, to file a criminal complaint, that costs money, UPFRONT.  The commercials you see on TV about "we only get paid when you do" is always a civil case.  And those jerks will only take the case if they think they can win it, thus getting them paid.  But if I call my lawyer and tell her that some guy stole my photographs and is selling them as his own, and I have proof of it......  She will turn around and say "ok, let's go get that bastage.  When can I expect my retainer?"

It's like that, and that's the way it is.

That's unfortunate, since experience tells me that none of the "best" shots in the game have any reason to cheat.  In any event, I'm pretty sure a LCS would have hindered rather than helped my game because it would have promoted the wrong fundamentals.  Good aim for me was a function of maneuvering so close to an enemy that I couldn't miss.  With a LCS, that kind of maneuvering wouldn't have been necessary, and I likely would have wound up taking longer, lower percentage shots with less maneuvering.

Yet the very best shots in Aces High always tend to set up their shots with great angles, positioning, and anticipation.  An LCS doesn't really aid in any of those.

It's unfortunate that Pellik didn't understand that and felt the need to cheat.  I guess he had what was coming to him, but yeah... what a waste.

I've accused some (under my breath) of using "it"..  and other cheats.. well sometimes not under my breath, but after I reflect, I do beleive they weren't using any outside "assistance". Many times I've been nailed by opponents who, to my vantage point are nose-off, and couldn't have had their guns trained on me, let alone be pulling sufficient lead. I have just put that down to a graphics-lag-whatever issue, that my view of their aspect no the same as their aspect. I know there times I've made a miracle shot, and wonder what the other guy is thinking.  I do still wonder about certain players that inevitabaly seem to have uber armor on their tanks though.
