The Mossie we have is not really a night fighter.  For the best night fighter of the war we'd need the Mosquito NF.Mk 30.  Did about 430mph at ~27,000ft.  On the deck it would be a bit slower than the Mosquito VI we have already.

And yes, hunting B-29s in a Mosquito Mk 30 does sound good to me.

Did the NF. Mk 30 have the same loadout as the fighter/attacker we have now?

No .303 machine guns, no bomb bay, no capability for rockets.  More 20mm ammo.  It could carry a 500lb under each wing, but that was the limit of its ordnance capability.

I see them every day but the long chase in my 110 usually ends up with a 163 fight deep in enemy territory.

its a cool idea but i laugh at this for 1 we need night first in order to have night fighters and 2 even if we did have nightfighters and night you would have a bright red color above your name so either way your not hard to spot.

My thoughts...you do not need night for night fighters in AH.  Reasoning?  If everything in AH 100% correct, 1 country would be Allied, 1 country Axis, and 1 country Switzerland, and we must all fly our countries respected planes.

If we are going for nightfighters:

JU88 G/R series.  Later in the war, with some modifications and with more speed and firepower - the JU-88 was probably the most successful night-fighter of the war (namely because the germans had more stuff to hunt at night) and mighty sexy too.

but really, night fighting - to be frank - would take a lot of new code and some actual technical skills (operating the equipment) - but a proper 24 hour time cycled AH 2 would be ideal - so that the there will be real night and day cycles with different skills and equipment.  But thats all distant future stuff.

I don't think night is needed for night fighters to get some use.  Sure, a pure day fighter will have the advantage, but there are people who can use the Mossie VI, Bf110G and A-20G as successful fighters in AH now.

A fight between a Ju88G-7 and Mosquito NF.Mk.30 would probably be a lot of fun, daylight or not.

lol i fly them alot. unfortionatly i havnt ran into anyone at 25,000ft to 29,000ft they always up from the base i drop on then they chase me and fail cuz im at full power going 350mph. and last night when i was empty i clocked it at 392mph.

as for night fighters yes it would be better if we had night time for night fighters. an i dea that i thought of was to have a small dar circle around the nightfighter so you wouldnt need another player opperating the radar(or you can if you want).
