Ummmm, What's up with master alien races, with all the gizmos in the world.... who lose because they can't kill 7 guys and 1 girl driving in a big orange bus on a freeway? Seriously? They can listen to every electronic signature we make.... but can't see an fluorescent orange bus driving down the road, behind their own lines?
Also.... will someone let the folks in Hollywood know, that the "HandyCam" thing just isn't the way to shoot a movie. Yeah, it's ok here and there, to get you in the feel for the action... but can't you put it on a tripod every now and again? Is it really all that exciting to zoom IN...ZOOOOM out... SHAKEY SHAKEY...ZOOM back in... when two guys are in an office talking about
nothing?
Marines walking in a clump of 15 guys down the middle of a street......behind enemy lines...
At least this one didn't have Jeff Goldblum using a single Apple laptop to disable an entire alien mothership and all the base ships' shields. Though it is just as easy to thwart these alien's world domination agenda.....the entire enemy command and control structure... not in orbit... not in the ocean... in Santa Monica.
I give the movie 1.5 stars out of 5. And that's being very generous because the tickets were free and I was mildly entertained through most of it...though even the combat scenes get tiring and old.
