Another "Is this possible HTC" question about the hangar...
« on: March 15, 2011, 04:08:20 PM »
HTC: Can you have a hangar loadout that's not a weapon?

I recall in the past you have said you cannot modify the flight model based on clipped wingtips or different engines or anything like that.

This is different.

The recent P-51 thread and generally thinking about the B-25C model makes me wonder if you can:

Change allowable head positions based on hangar loadout options?

Can you map the Malcolm hood as an option on the P-51B? Allow a birdcage as option #2?

The question isn't can it be done (see B-25C and different noses), the question is can you change the allowable head positions IF you do that?

Naturally the Malcolm allows more room. you'd have heads sticking through canopies when you revert to the birdcage, right?

Wouldn't want that. Need some code that says "Normally your head position goes further, but I'm gonna stop you here" or something that changes the actual head position boundaries based on hangar selection.

Thoughts? Many would use the Malcolm, and good on ya all for enjoying it. I do tend to miss the birdcage, myself. I've always associated the 51B with birdcage, since I was younger. Photos, models, artwork, it's been pretty common. I'm wondering if there's any viable way to get it back as an option that doesn't change anything but visuals (which would imply including head position, though).

The birdcage canopy would result less drag, right?

while we're talking about the b25C, remodel it to have a tail gunner and belly gunner. the C model had both i believe. (the belly gunner wasent very effective, but it should still be included)

the B25"C" we have ingame seems to be a D model. the C model  had a tail gunner. and even a perescope-like belly gunner.

so ether it needs to be changed from C to D. or they need to model it correctly.

personally i think the b25C doesnt get used very much in MA is because its so easy to kill since it doesnt have a tail gunner.

most ppl just hide under the belly.

Do you have a source, I would like to see it.

HTC rarely makes mistakes, but they have changed some names around, notably the 190G10 to the 190K4

Just a quick read from Wikipedia,

the B25C is identical to the B25D, the C is made in Kansas, as the D is made in California.

Also the tail and waist guns were added in the field so that would throw the mod out right there. What we need is the B25J.

Guys, lets move back to the question at hand on the 51.  If you'd like to talk of the "J" try this one...
